Sire Larry Carlton T7 Tobacco Sunburst Electric Guitar

I bought a B stock copy of this beauty to make it a Frankenstein guitar and my star rating reflects how suitable this guitar is for this particular buying objective. The guitar arrived with the high E string broken - there was no other reason for qualifying for B stock. The craftmanship is outstanding - the quality control in these Asian factories seems to be of high standard. The visuals are very deceptive - you are thinking holding a guitar three times the cost it actually is. The neck is pleasant in the hand. I have not checked the setup but the strings do feel a bit high. Hardware is decent: the pickups do produce appropriate Tele vibes albeit are slightly noisy as expected. My preference is less noise so the pickups will have to go. The ashtray bridge has surprised me with its resonance and accuracy of intonation and I am now thinking this might be a keeper instead of changing it to a modern Tele bridge. The three way switch is a little bit noisy and poor on tactile feedback so little investment here will make a big difference.
